And after the international break, Louis van Gaal could have a fresh feel to his United team, just as he promised before the weekend.

Falcao would expect to command a standing spot at Old Trafford, but where does that leave fellow strikers Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney?

And with £60m man Angel Di Maria surely commanding a starting spot, does that leave Juan Mata out in the cold?

Rooney could drop deep with Di Maria and Ander Herrera in midfield, although that leaves Darren Fletcher and others out.

If Van Gaal sticks with his 3-5-2 formation, he could look to play new boys Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo as part of a back-three with Phil Jones, along with Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw as wing backs.
